WHAT IS CILS?

 

The CILS Exam (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera) is a proficiency examination to test your competence in the language. It is held twice a year in June and December at the Università per Stranieri di Siena and at many other institutions abroad.

This certificate is recognized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and most Italian universities as a requirement for admission.

The examination is divided into four levels, beginner, elementary, intermediate, advanced and consists of five parts:

 

 - Listening test

- Reading comprehension

- Use of the language

- Written test

- Speaking test

 

HOW IS LANGUAMEDIA HELPING?

With the traditional “It’s like being in the classroom” Languamedia method, your teacher will put you through intensive written and oral practice, with lessons elaborated according to specific CILS guidelines.

This is the lesson you need if you don’t speak any Italian but need to speak some language and need to learn it quickly. So whether you’re planning to come over to Italy either on holiday or on business, or simply want to start mastering some Italian as quickly as possible, this is the course for you!

You will learn the essential words and phrases by just listening to your teacher talking to you, in an easy and relaxed atmosphere.

This special lesson includes a booklet and an audio file for you to listen at home, while driving or travelling (downloading required).

As, as usual, this is not a standard pre-recorded lesson: the teacher will actually talk to YOU!

Total playing time for this course is approximately  120 mins. This should take one full day’s learning time, considering other activivites. However you may want to split the lesson into 2 or more days.In case you have a firm deadline, we would suggest you order this course at least 3 weeks before such deadline, in order for your teacher to have plenty of time to record the lesson for you.All times are indicative and no responsibility is taken in such regard.Remember: with Languamedia home study, time is up to you!This course is a crash course and as such it is intended to give “survival” guidelines only.For a more complete result we suggest you try our “Italian for Travellers” courses.

Idioms are coloured expressions used in every language which give you the chance to improve your vocabulary while learning more on the tradition and culture.
